Overview
Sutido is a desktop application for managing MongoDB databases. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your data. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.
Data We Don't Collect
We do not collect, transmit, or store:
- Your database connection strings or credentials
- Your database contents, queries, or schemas
- Personal information beyond what's required for licensing
Your database credentials are stored locally on your machine using the operating system's secure credential storage (Windows Credential Manager, macOS Keychain, or Linux Secret Service).
Data We Collect
License Activation
When you activate a license, we collect:
- License key - To verify your purchase
- Email address - Associated with your purchase for support
- Machine identifier - A hash of hardware identifiers to enforce device limits
- Machine name - To help you identify activated devices
This data is necessary to verify your license and manage device activations.
Update Checks
When checking for updates, we transmit:
- Current app version
- Operating system and architecture (e.g., "Windows 10 x64")
This data is used solely to determine if an update is available for your platform. We do not track individual users or correlate update checks with identities.
Optional Telemetry
Sutido includes opt-in telemetry that is disabled by default. If you choose to enable it in Settings, we collect anonymous usage data:
- App version, OS version, architecture
- Feature usage counts (e.g., number of queries run)
- Error reports and crash logs
- Session duration
Telemetry data is anonymous and cannot be tied to your identity. We use this data to improve Sutido and fix bugs. You can disable telemetry at any time in Settings.
Website Analytics
Our website may use privacy-focused analytics (such as Plausible or Fathom) to understand how visitors use our site. These tools do not use cookies and do not track individuals.
How We Protect Your Data
- All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
- License keys are stored hashed, not in plain text
- We do not sell or share your data with third parties
- Access to our systems is restricted and audited
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- LemonSqueezy - Payment processing. When you purchase a license, your payment information is handled by LemonSqueezy. See their privacy policy.
Data Retention
- License data - Retained while your license is active, plus 30 days after expiration
- Telemetry data - Retained for 12 months, then aggregated and anonymized
- Purchase records - Retained as required for tax and legal compliance
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request a copy of your data
- Request deletion of your data (except where legally required to retain)
- Opt out of telemetry at any time
- Deactivate devices from your license

Children's Privacy
Sutido is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through the app. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when this policy was last revised.
